Janet Ross has a B.A. in Outdoor Education and an M.S. in Experiential Education. Previous to starting Four Corners School in 1984, she worked for the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and U.S. Forest Service as a backcountry ranger, wilderness specialist, and recreation crew leader for seven years. She worked as a wilderness guide for over 15 years for the Colorado Outward Bound School, the National Outdoor Leadership School, Wilderness Challenge, Operation Breakout, Prescott College, and other outdoor programs. She founded FCS in 1984 as an outgrowth of her love for the Colorado Plateau and desire to teach others about the need to understand and protect it.

Pamela Vafi has a B.A. in Psychology/Sociology and a M.A. in the Humanities from California State University, where her master's research focused on neolithic societies of the ancient Near East. Prior to working for Four Corners School, she taught history at the College of Eastern Utah and has worked for various wilderness programs as both business manager and licensed nurse. She lives in Monticello, Utah.
Tim Foulkes has a B.A. in Recreation and Outdoor Leadership with a minor in Environmental Studies. He worked with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps in 2002 as a fire/fuels reduction crew leader and field project coordinator/crew liason. In this latter job he organized all the work projects for the crews, provided technical support, was a liaison with the office, worked with all the federal agencies to meet technical specifications of projects, and facilitated trainings for leaders and weekend recreation for crewmembers. He also worked in 2000 and 2001 for the San Luis Valley Regional Youth Corps as a trails crew leader. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder.
Kristen Trejos is a graduate of William Smith College of upstate NY where she earned a BA pursuing an individual major entitled "Diverse Populations in Education". She also received her teacher certification in elementary and special education, having worked with children from pre-K through sixth grade. In addition, Kristen has her Montessori Elementary Certification and has taught in Arizona and Colorado, integrating the fundamentals of outdoor and environmental education.
Becky Kerr has a B.S. in Microbiology and Medical Technology from Colorado State University, and a Secondary Science Teaching Certificate from the University of Northern Colorado. She taught Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science to Middle School students for 13 years, and Physics and Sports Medicine to High School students for one year. At the middle school she had an environmental educational easement, an outdoor classroom, where she took her students every month to observe changes in the environment as well as relating the classroom concepts with the real world. In 1998 she earned the first annual Joan and Hy Rosner Environmental Education award presented by the New Mexico State Land Office for Stewardship of this Environmental Easement. She was acknowledged as an exemplary teacher by the New Mexico State School Accreditation team when they visited an outdoor tailgate program at the easement.
Carrie has a M.S. in Environmental Education and a B.S. in Wildlife Biology. She has worked for the last 4 years for the Jerome Ford Nature center, Randall Davey Audubon center, and Birds of Vermont Museum. She has been a teacher and substitute teacher at Sharon Elementary School in Vermont.
