School Year Program

During the school year the Program Manager and 4 Regional Coordinators work with up to 40 teachers, in up to 20 schools, in four states, implementing and integrating BOEP into each district’s curriculum. We accomplish this by a two-year series of in-services, mini-workshops, and direct teacher mentoring and training in each school.

BOEP5We also provide the teachers with the necessary instruction to permanently integrate Place-based outdoor education into their curriculum.

Each school also receives money to buy equipment for a Resource Center that becomes school district property, available to all teachers in each school.

Where Do We Go from Here?

We plan to work with 20 schools (5 from each state) for two-year periods until we have served all K - 8th grade schools on the Colorado Plateau that want to receive the program. To date we have served 79 schools, 948 teachers, and 23,700 students.

If your school or district is interested in becoming part of the program, please contact the BOEP Program Manager.
