Welcome to the Canyon Country Youth Corps! Please explore our pages to understand who the Canyon Country Youth Corps is, what we do, how we do it, why we do what we do, who our partners are, and the benefits we offer our program participants.
The goal of Canyon Country Youth Corps is to improve work readiness, employment prospects, and economic independence for youth (Crew Members: ages 16-25 and Crew Leaders: ages 21+), while also teaching them healthy lifestyles and respect for natural resources and the outdoors. The work projects include habitat restoration, fuels reduction, fence construction and trails maintenance.
The Canyon Country Youth Corps education component includes teamwork, conflict resolution, self-reliance, self-confidence, environmental education, and healthy lifestyles. In the long-term Canyon Country Youth Corps will develop in young people an appreciation for the natural world and lifelong employment skills. Canyon Country Youth Corps includes spring, summer, and fall programs, ranging from four week to twelve week commitments, and an education component. Participants learn the value and importance of personal responsibility by completing conservation work on Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Utah Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, and National Park Service lands.
Canyon Country Youth Corps school year recruitment events give high school and college students an introduction to the program, skills needed to complete a term of service and recruits them for the appropriate work program.
