Program Activity Types

SWED3Southwest Ed-Ventures specializes in the natural and human history of the Colorado Plateau. The Plateau is rich in archaeology, spectacular geology, wild and beautiful landscapes, intriguing native cultures, and rare plant and animal life. We can offer you the expertise, experience, activities, travel options, and special access that will make your program the experience of a lifetime. In order to take best advantage of the incredible resources of this area, and Southwest Ed-Ventures special expertise, we suggest the following themes, activities, modes of travel, lodging options, and approximate costs:

THEMES: Archaeology, geology, biology, natural history, environmental education, Native American studies, rock art exploration, primitive skills, wilderness advocacy, service projects, research programs, or any combination of the above.

ACTIVITIES: Rafting, hiking, backpacking, canyoneering, van touring, houseboat touring, cross-country skiing, museum or trading post touring, wildlife viewing, photography, writing, drawing or painting, and primitive skills.

TRAVEL: Motorized- 15-passenger van, "snow-van," bus, or houseboat. Non-motorized - Rafts, cross-country skis, or on foot.

LODGING: Camping, motel, or basecamp camping.
