Volunteer at the Comb Ridge Classic!

Are you passionate about helping people experience the Colorado Plateau in an active way? Help us set-up and "run" the
Comb Ridge Classic race course by staffing aid stations and/or registering participants. Support our trail runners before, during and after the race. You'll learn the ins and outs of race management and see Comb Ridge as you may have never seen it before!


Registration and Finish Line Staff (2 volunteers needed)


  • Process registrations, take walk-in payments and hand out runner packets
  • Set-up and restock food at the finish line refreshment table
  • Record times as runners cross the finish line

Relevant Skills:

  • Some cash handling experience
  • Ability to record information quickly

Course and Aid Station Staff (4 volunteers needed)


  • Set-up course route using ribbons, cones and other materials (instructions and materials provided)
  • Set-up aid station tables and water jugs
  • Staff aid stations for the duration of the race
  • Help clean-up course materials

Relevant Skills:

  • Follow specific directions from race staff
  • Physical fitness (may be necessary to run/walk up to 6 miles, but vehicle dropoff is provided)
  • Be able to lift 20+ pounds
  • Remain calm in potential emergencies

Time Commitment: May 13, 2017 from 7:00 am – 1:00 pm

Location: Comb Wash Campground, about 14 miles west of US 191. On UT-95.

  • Volunteers receive 50% off the October 14, 2017 Newspaper Rock 10K race registration fee!
  • Transportation to/from the race on May 13th is provided. A shuttle van departs at 6:00 a.m. from the Canyon Country
    Discovery Center in Monticello and departs at 6:30 a.m. from Clark’s Market in Blanding.
